1) Spanish - My mother tongue.

There is a group of languages ​​that I understand through Spanish, such as Portuguese and Italian.

Foreign languages:

2) Polish – I landed in Poland in 1979 and was there for the next 2.5 years. Afterwards little contact in Polish, nothing since 1990. In 2009 I found surprisingly that I understand the fast pace of talking Polish also over the phone.

There is a group of languages ​​that I understand thanks to Polish:

2.1) Czech - When the interlocutor speaks slowly.

2.2) Slovenian - Almost direct with slight differences.

2.3) Russian - I can understand it in writing and when the other person speaks very slowly.

3) English - self-taught, I was in London for 9 days in 1994. I still struggle with English accents, however I am quite fluent in person.

4) French – After a year-long course in Poland completed in June 1981, miraculously in November 2019 I found that I could understand French in writing.

5) German - After three months (October-December 1981) of an interrupted course in Poland I managed to speak a little, get by and understand it in writing. Later by the end of February 2020 I received a short text in German, tried to read it and miraculously I understood the text. I found I remember some of German grammar and pronunciation.
