Personally, I am a product of the Cuban sports system as a chess player. Former national school gold medalist, four-year Junior Champion of Havana Province, and two-year fifth-ranked Cuban Junior when I quitted professional chess practice in 1978.

Four years (1972-1976) in secondary school, then grades 7th-10th, I lived off home in a boarding school campus of Havana's Sport Talents, where soccer was a physical sport for us chess players; our team was second after school's soccer team, that players played with us for their training, resulted in a small advantage difference for them.

At that times the second sport for me was table tennis;  I think it keeps my reflexes in good shape. In the 80's in Poland I did judo and in Cuba swimming and body-building at the same time.

In 1999 I returned to chess practice and few months later became a coach to woman grandmaster. In October 2003 my name appeared in the international FIDE ranking at number 256 place on the Cuba ranking, also joined Havana's chess elite again. I was 43 years old.

In 2004 the Cuban Institute of Sport (acronym INDER) considered the content of my unpublished book on chess, related to the ability to determine individual rating in the  domino pairs game, worthy to a PhD in Sports for which I was recommended to split the book into two volumes and make an application for the domino's ranking. There were several reasons why this task was not completed:

- The falling ill on cancer my former wife.- I din't have own computer home.

- Having to look after "computer time" anywhere.

- Long difficult period of illness and death of my wife.

- My health was not good.

After some time I had neither the strength nor the desire to ask for “computer time”, nor to edit the book, therefore I gave up the possible PhD in Sports.

On June 5, 2023 I started playing and training online on the chess platform https://www.Lichess.org under the username wmayet, initially for brain "feeding" purposes.
